"Developing Early Skills Through Montessori Play: Learning Colors, Shapes, and Language with Kumba"

Published on 24 September 2024 at 10:52

Playing with Montessori toys is a great way to help young children, even babies, develop essential skills. Today, I was playing with Kumba, who is 20 months old, and we focused on colorful shapes—red, yellow, blue, and green. Through this, Kumba is improving her coordination and learning to recognize both colors and shapes. We also practiced counting in Mandinka, a language from Gambia. Kumba can now count to 20 in Mandinka and even further in English. Additionally, she has mastered reciting the entire alphabet! Montessori play fosters her understanding of numbers, language, and coordination, all while keeping it fun and engaging.

This engaging set features four geometric columns designed for shape matching and color recognition. Made from durable materials, these vibrant blocks promote hands-on learning, fine motor skills, and cognitive development. Perfect for preschoolers, these building blocks offer endless possibilities for creativity and exploration. Ideal for both individual and group play, they provide a fun and interactive way for children to learn about shapes and colors while fostering their imagination!
