Brain Anatomy

Today in our homeschool learning, we continued our study of human anatomy, focusing on brain anatomy. Tayo built a 4D model of the brain, exploring all the different parts and learning about what each one does. He enjoyed labeling the parts on a worksheet and then writing about them, which made the lesson even more interesting for him. "Developing Early Skills Through Montessori Play: Learning Colors, Shapes, and Language with Kumba"

Playing with Montessori toys is a great way to help young children, even babies, develop essential skills. Today, I was playing with Kumba, who is 20 months old, and we focused on colorful shapes—red, yellow, blue, and green. Through this, Kumba is improving her coordination and learning to recognize both colors and shapes. We also practiced counting in Mandinka, a language from Gambia. Kumba can now count to 20 in Mandinka and even further in English. Additionally, she has mastered reciting the entire alphabet! Montessori play fosters her understanding of numbers, language, and coordination, all while keeping it fun and engaging.
